The Los Angeles City Controller has released data showing that the recent protests over federal immigration raids have cost local taxpayers more than $30 million.
In a post to X on Friday, City Controller Kenneth Mejia said that, as of June 17, the cost related to the protests that have roiled the city — mostly downtown L.A. — is $32,042,107.

Why don’t local governments ever complain about providing food, shelter, medical care and for tolerating the crime of illegals? It’s always the cost of their removal that lights them up. Could it be that they’re considered their political base? Voters?

The cost of removing graffiti, repairing structures, and police claiming disabilities after the riots will be much higher.
