The results showed a majority of parents “are at odds with our country’s higher education institutions on several contentious issues that are consistently in today’s political dialogue,” according to a news release. Defending Education works to rid education of ideological agendas.
In the poll, which involved parents of 15- to 21-year-old students, 54 percent said universities should not prioritize a student’s race when awarding scholarships, and 57 percent said the same about hiring employees.
Racial preferences are still a problem at universities, College Fix investigations have found.
Recently, the University of Michigan-Flint revised a physical therapy training program to no longer exclude students on the basis of race, following a federal civil rights complaint and a College Fix inquiry.

he Defending Education poll found strong concerns among parents about other issues as well, including men in women’s sports and antisemitism.
Three in four parents said men who identify as women should not be allowed to use women’s restrooms or compete in women’s sports.
Nearly 70 percent also said universities should discipline students who disrupt campus events because they disagree with them.
Other results from the poll include:
– 88 percent of parents support universities being required to disclose any money accepted from foreign governments.
– 67 percent of parents support universities offering or requiring more training for faculty and staff to properly address and identify antisemitism and Jewish discrimination on campus.
– 84 percent of parents feel that it is concerning universities are launching remedial math courses since high school graduates are not coming prepared for college level math courses.
Paul Runko, director of strategic initiatives at Defending Education, said in a news release that the results did not surprise him.
He said most parents and students believe college should be “academically rigorous, open to diverse viewpoints, and focused on preparing graduates for meaningful careers.”
“Colleges and universities should take note when families express concern about campus climates—calling for environments free from political extremism, ideological agendas, antisemitism, and campus disruptions,” Runko stated.
It would be fairly simple to implement. Don’t ask for names or sex or race or religion or national origin on the applications or the transcripts or the SAT tests. Nit even an address, or the name of their school. Just use a unique identifier for the student and another one for their school which would give a sense for whether there is grade inflation at that school. (Example, school A12029 has a 93% graduation rate with an average GPA of 3.3 would indicate they are handing out As and Bs like heart candies on Valentine’s Day (though I think that is banned now lol). Then almost all evaluation would be based on competency alone.
Except, there would be loopholes in the extracurricular activities statements and the written essays. Students could or would write about what they do outside of school and this would give hints if not outright explanations of race, origin, religion, orientation and other narrow interests.
And further, the next generation will be about 35% smaller in population size… so there will be fewer potential students… and the rise of AI will make a lot of Bachelor of Arts degrees an irrelevant field of study for undergraduates. It may be a problem that resolves itself.
The majority of parents should stop sending their kids to college.

Bingo. You nailed it. College isn’t for everyone. Especially with the new lower standards, paying a fortune for a worthless diploma is really, really stupid. You can’t tell me those muzzie bozos with pizza place table cloths on their heads have learned anything this last semester. About all they learned is to vomit goofy slogans and make silly signs. Some learned to kill Jews.
They actually make decisions based on a common (communist) ideology.
Race (of the non-white, non-asian, and, apparently, more recently, non-Jewish varieties), is currently being used as an ostensibly more palatable substitute for nakedly discriminating based on political ideology (i.e., discriminating against traditional U.S. of American viewpoints and culture).
In the “education” business, parents are the enemy as well as the customer.

The funny thing is that parents are the people who bear the most of the cost of college yet have the least influence over the content of the education. I mean, what do they know? Once you have them convinced that college is the key to a successful career, it’s easy to get them to shut up and pay.
That won’t suffice. So far, standardized tests, being on time, maths, insistence on proper English, even meritocracy itself has been deemed racist by the ever-so-compassionate left.
we also need to convince corporations that there are other ways to evaluate entry-level candidates for a position rather than intense scrutiny of expensive credentials....why not give some aptitude test as it relates to the job?

Back in the day, I (a white man) got into MIT under the “Arizona quota”! If that did not happen, I would never have gotten into Harvard graduate school with an NSF Fellowship!
Geographic “quotas” are OK, provided they are mainly based on merit. Discriminating against whites and men is never OK!
Accreditation agencies for higher education that include DEI requirements in their accreditation programs need to have their federal certification revoked.

AFFIRMATIVE ACTION
Universities used foreign students instead of U.S. student to receive ADDITIONAL federal money NOT to be based on merit. This use of foreign college students developed from social engineering of race based “affirmative action.”
Students were NO LONGER selected according to ACADEMIC MERIT. Rather, colleges and universities met receive race-based quotas in order to receive federal funds. There were not enough U.S non-white students wanting enrollment in colleges or universities. So, colleges and universities went through the RACE ‘loop-hole’ of selecting international students.
JUSTICE THURGOOD MARSHALL, the first African American “Supreme Court justice, highlights the hypocrisy of opposition to affirmative action where opponents claim that it violates the Constitution’s disregard for race.
Specifically, Justice Marshall is referring to race-based admissions, the most well-known form of affirmative action in higher education, which is the consideration of race in the college admissions process that extends opportunities to marginalized groups, particularly people of color, in the United States (US) to mitigate systemic inequalities that hinder access to higher education (Hinz 917-918).”
California v. Bakke, the race-based admissions policy at the University of California Medical School was challenged by a white applicant who claimed that the seats reserved for underrepresented groups infringed on his right to a fair admissions process (Hinz 918).
He tried to argue that constitutional “color-blindness” means that preferences cannot be given to marginalized groups because it would constitute racial discrimination toward white people (Hinz 918).
The Supreme Court’s ultimately allowed race-based admissions to continue by allowing race to be considered for admissions criteria. Although, the Supreme Court still mandated Bakke’s admission and stated that racial quotas were either unconstitutional (according to Justice Lewis Powell) or went against the Civil Rights Act (according to the remaining justices who sided with Bakke) (“Regents of the University of California v. Bakke.”).
Justice Marshall wrote a dissent against the PROHIBITION of racial quotas and wrote in support of the legal foundation of race-based admissions in general (“Regents of the University of California v. Bakke.”).
