Know the family well. Guy was and continues to be a left winger masquerading to try to get into office. This seems to be a common trick the Dems are trying this cycle.

Bogus headline, not even close to correct. Reported to Admins.

Correct headline: Florida state lawmaker who recently ditched Democratic label announces gubernatorial bid

He will not be running as a Republican since he’d stand zero chance in the primary. We’ll see if he even has enough of an impact to hurt either major party candidate — probably he won’t.

BTW, so far there are NINE “third party” or independent candidates at this time who are running for Governor in Florida next year. This pissant is just another one in the group of losers.

I don’t see him peeling off many republicans. Hopefully he just splits the democrats even further.

There is a very well known legal group that is willing to finance the split the vote campaign.

It’s a given here in New England.

One State House rep votes 90% of the time with the most radical dems but keeps getting elected by putting an R next to her name on the ballot.

Hard to get folks to pay attention to details…

Pizzo has a very long record of advocating far left views as a Democrat.

I guess Pizzo thinks that by becoming an independent candidate people will believe Pizzo has become a new person.

As a rule, I want to give any ex-Democrat an 8-year “cooling off” period as a trial before I see whether they are genuine in their switch or if it’s just a political stunt to worm their way into office.

Dropping your party and immediately running for office is the same as a football slipping into the locker room at halftime and putting on the other team’s jersey and walking out on the field for the rest of the game with the other side.

New Florida law:

A person seeking nomination as a candidate of a political party to be a member of that political party for the 365 days BEFORE the beginning of the applicable qualifying period.

A person seeking to qualify for office as a candidate with no party affiliation to not be a member of any political party for the 365 days BEFORE the beginning of the applicable qualifying period.

Therefore, the last day for a person to make the change before the applicable 2024 qualifying period was April 23, 2023, for the first qualifying period, and June 11, 2023, for the second qualifying period.

The dirtbag made it under the wire.

Red State paradox. In such state, Dumbs don’t have that good a chance of winning, so some of them become GOPee, then run and win that way, committing their usual mayhem once in office. See Texas and Florida for examples.
