If Patel were the reformer of FBI abuses he claims to be, why did he appoint Steven Jensen, who was responsible for the persecution of the January 6th protesters, to run the Washington office of that agency?

Right. Patel was put in place to fire at least 5,000 corrupt agents.

Patel is doing a great job too. Just 4,994 more agents to go.
