Multiple lawmakers visited the Washington, D.C., jail to demand the release of pardoned January 6 rioters.
Conservative House Freedom Caucus (HFC) members Lauren Boebert of Colorado, Chip Roy of Texas and Eli Crane of Arizona were among some of the MAGA-friendly members that visited the jail Tuesday.
'We hope they are going to be released shortly,' Roy said speaking outside of the jail on the conservative show Real America's Voice. 'A pardon is a pardon.'
MAGA diehard Lauren Boebert even offered the soon-to-be released defendants a private tour of the Capitol.
'These men have already paid too much time, more time than they ever should. They should never have been locked up,' Boebert told a crowd of Trump supporters waiting eagerly outside the prison.
'I want to see their release, and you know, I'll be the first member of Congress to offer them a guided tour of the Capitol,' she continued to massive applause.
Their visit to the jail comes just one day after President Donald Trump took office and immediately pardoned January 6 defendants. Speaking reporters Monday night in the Oval Office, Trump explained that he was pardoning roughly 1,500 defendants and issuing six commutations.
He also directed the attorney general to seek dismissal of about 450 pending criminal cases against January 6 offenders, fulfilling a long kept promise to release the MAGA faithful that participated in the riot.
However, as Tuesday rolled around and some J6 prisoners remained behind bars, concern began percolating among hard-right lawmakers about whether the D.C. detention center got Trump's memo.

I’m watching freed J6ers right now. It’s awesome!
Where?
Why does this fake news call them rioters. They are referred to as hostages by the administration.
This is the day of Liberation
Let freedom brightly shine
Justice for all, our justice.
From exile to White House
From Gulag to liberty
Donald has brought us over
Singing the song of victory:
“Glory to your second term, O Trump”
Trump has returned to White House
Trampling down the Bidens’ drecht
And to those into Gulag’s bowels
Bestowing flight!
They are the biggest damn patriots of our lifetimes! We all know damn well the 2020 election was stolen and these heroes put their lives on the line to protest a usurpation of our government by evil traitors!
Every single one of them deserves the Presidential Medal of Freedom!
We should trade with the Jail keepers. One FBI agent for 1 political J6 prisoner.
And the way these people were treated there, some so-called “prison officials” need to become “unofficial”.
And no due process for 4 years!!! Unheard of in the USA. certain judges need to be “judged”.
The communists need to be purged everywhere they’re found.
Where are you watching?
They call them rioters because anyone caught at the location of a riot is considered guilty by association. Law enforcement does not ask questions, they arrest those in the vicinity. We know they were not “rioters,” but the legacy media sticks with the label. We know why. Never mind all the city burning during Trump’s first term by real rioters.
Mini Bastille.
Political Prisoners.
Right out of the playbook of EVERY Commie-Fascist-DEMOCRAT administration handbook.
Nobody stormed the jail. They are kept across the street from the jail. The cops were sticking parking tickets on family member cars just to be nasty.
Cops said they were told to ticket those cars from someone higher up.
Someone higher up needs to be arrested. Butts.
Let my people go!
The majority of J6ers didn’t know they were doing anything illegal. Their “crimes” were invented by people to injure them and make them afraid to express valid points of view.
Pro lifers who violated the law were choosing to protest illegally, understanding that their moral positions would make them liable to a jail sentence. Ala Mandela. They were choosing martyrdom to make their point. While I can applaud their moral stance, I see absolutely no reason they should get a pass for illegal actions. They consciously chose martyrdom. I don’t see any reason for pardons as long as the sentences were within the reasonable length to be expected before they protested. If not and the sentences were made unreasonably punitive, then they DO deserve commutations. But, to me, pardons would denigrate their moral protests.
You change the law. You don’t violate it without accepting consequences.
If abortion protesters violated laws and expected to get away with it because their morals were above the law, I have no respect for them. I sincerely hope that isn’t the case and that, rather, they consciously chose to be martyrs. Those people I could have great respect for.
The press never learns.
The people were standing across a driveway-parking lot from the jail.
Can the press be prosecuted for anything, i.e., blatant treasonous lies, or are they 100% immune from that?
Republicans “storm” Is that anything like republicans “pounce?”
Well said.
“Free at last, free at last, God Almighty, free at last!”
