Roy says he has a lot of text messages, but no callers. What’s wrong with these folks? Why text a question when the phone lines are open? Beam me up Scotty!

Roy talking about ‘forced sharing’ which is actually communism. I was raised to share under threat of course in order to not be selfish. Roy explains the fallacy and harm behind that type of intimidation.

I called once when I was 22 years old, 30 years ago, and people still talk to me about that call...I just don’t like having my dirty laundry exposed to the radio audience!

Well I guess I would be hesitant if I knew there were people listening who knew it was me, but whenever I call I don’t give out my real name or location.

What do you do when you are confronted by beggars? Had it happen tonight in the Taco Bell drive thru. The guy wanted money because he said he was hungry. Well I rarely have cash on me so he then asked if I could buy him something. I bought him something small. I felt a little guilty for not getting him more but was also cheesed off because I hate people begging. He wasn’t even appreciative of what I did get him—no thank you.

Well that's a good question B-Mom, worth a vanity thread all its own. Well the way I look at it, it's a case by case situation, depends on who's doing the begging and why and if I'm able to help them out.
One night there were 3 young teens sitting in front of a store pretty late and they asked me for a buck, I asked them what for, and they said because they were hungry, lol. It was late and they were on skateboards so I gave them a couple of bucks so they could get chips or something and go home hopefully. They were overjoyed.
There's always someone standing on the corner here with a sign asking for money, sometimes I give if I have anything to give, other times I'm just not able, but would give if I could.
You did a nice thing on the surface but it wasn't really nice because you didn't want to, the beggar probably could tell but he still should've thanked you for what you did bother to buy him eventho he probably felt you could've bought him more. The question is why did you buy him something if in your heart you didn't want to?
