Samsung hasn’t had a presence in N. Korea since 2010. Additionally, samsung is in the process of transferring it’s handset construction to Vietnam. Less than 25% of its component construction is in China, and that amount is steadily decreasing . I don’t know what your animus is toward Samsung, but it’s obvious.

In the amount of time that it would take China to build a new factory, we would still be doing the environmental paperwork.

China has very little or no regulations. In the states, there are states with heavy regulations and others with very little. But, if a state wants a giant like Apple to set up shop within the state, then, negotiations can get deals for expediting the building of facilities. Who or what state would not want Apple doing business in their state?

Trump can speed up the deals for setting up shop. And in the end, we wouldn't have to deal with China, which is the greatest part of getting our businesses back. Not to mention the millions of jobs that would be coming back into the country. I see no disadvantages at all.

I’ll keep buying Samsung, thank you very much.

I like Samsung products, but their smartphones run on Android. Android, no matter how much it is tailored, is a privacy and personal information train wreck. Those are the tradeoffs.

You are taking the massive Foxconn factory network as the “gospel truth” for what is almost a different world... And this has been addressed many times.

Apple made many contractural demands years ago because of the very issues you mentioned - Apple lines are highly desirable because those lines receive “special treatment”, not only in pay, but in working conditions as well.

Apple uses softer nets to catch those trying to commit suicide...

Not even...

The highest paid lines (dramatically).

Shortest Working hours

Better Living conditions

Apple’s contract requirements were the first of their type - and stirred significant interest. Workers now compete to be chosen to work Apple lines at Foxconn.

But you just keep on with your propaganda (and please don’t even try to suggest that I prefer China - I think having any of our significant tech manufactured in China is dumber than dirt. Suicidal as a nation.

Samsung hasn’t had a presence in N. Korea since 2010.

I never said Samsung had a presence in N. Korea. Pay attention, or read up on Samsung.

Samsung built factories in communist China, and employed North Korea people in the Chinese factories. Slave labor from N. Korea, with the money going back to the N. Korean government. When President Trump heard about it during his first presidential term, he issued an executive order that forbid Samsung products from coming to the USA if they were built with N. Korean slave labor. Look it up. The animus towards Samsung comes from idiots blaming Apple for what Samsung does. Apple does not build factories in China. Apple does not employ slave labor in China. These things and more were/are done by Samsung. If you're against Apple for insinuations like these, then surely you must be more against Samsung.
