- She was driving with an International Driver's Permit, which is essentially a translation of a foreign driver's license: if she had been illegally present in the USA since she was 4 years old, where, when, how, and WHY did she get that permit?
- If she had been in the state of Georgia for more than 30 days, she would be considered a resident; as such, she was SUPPOSED to have gotten a regular Georgia driver's license.
- And, as it was admitted, she and her family had entered the country illegally. Yet, in all that time, they didn't seek to change their status or regularize it?
Sorry, not buying the sob story.
Her family’s technically: per the article (after the excerpt), she entered the country illegally with her family in 2010, when she was 4.
(Which, granted, makes you wonder why she has an International Driver’s Permit at all...)
Which Charity did ‘we the people’ pay to traffic her ‘illegal’ butt into OUR country.... ‘We the people’ should file class action law suits against these fake charity, workers of the devil.
So let’s see....in the country ILLEGALLY....driving without a license.....I’m guessing no insurance since she didn’t have a license.....yeah, deport her.
What’s maddening is how long she and her parents have been able to get away with breaking US immigration law. Deport them all.
Exactly. Along with thousands of others.
Oh, and btw, with all these illegals in college aren’t administrators open to charges of knowinging harboring them?
International driver licenses have been around for decades and we’re required when you rented or drove vehicles in other countries. Not so much anymore but a few countries still require them.
Again, she was in the country ILLEGALY!
It does not matter how she was caught.
All illegals shall be deported! Even if they never make wrong turn in their life!!!
It’s terrible when parents drag their children into their illegal activities. The girl is illegal, and it’s not really her fault, it appears.
“heartbreaking that a mistake by a police officer cost this person her freedom”
No, if you think about it, being in this country illegally cost this person her presence in this country illegally.
That was a decision made by herself, not the local police.
“Arias-Cristobel’s legal turmoil began when police believed”
Wrong again.
“ the 19-year-old, who is in the country illegally”
Now, you got it! (three paragraphs into the article)
Put her and pops on a bus.
“ it’s just LUCKLY that a mistake by a police officer CAUGHT this person THAT WAS IN THE COUNTRY ILLEGALLY AND WILL NOW CORRECTLY BE REMOVED FROM the United States.”
There, fixed it.
I had an international driver license in the mid 70s when I worked in Asia, South America, Mexico, and Europe for a couple years. That was almost 50 years ago.
Unless you work extended periods outside the USA, you probably never heard of it. It’s a real thing.
Yes, exactly right. What is infuriating is the school enrolled her in the first place without a student visa. She decided to come here illegally and the school turned a blind eye to it.
What’s more maddening is these slimeball lawyers making excuses for such lawbreaking.
They are only good for 6 months and you can’t register a car with it. They are temporary so you can rent a car on vacation. Not to use to drive in a country you’ve lived illegally in for years. Especially since you can get a state DL. This chick did nothing to make herself legal her whole life. Her entire life is a middle finger to the US.
so GA is cooperating with ICE?
Of course, the fact that Biden basically created the chaos that has led to this wholesale deportation we are witnessing. If we had not allowed the border to be flooded , we could have dealt with this problem in a more measured fashion. But that chaos was also intentional in the interest of making it impossible for anyone but a atrump to handle
Too bad.
Her illegal status has nothing to do with her getting pulled over.
And wrongly pulled over? So what? It happens.
I’ve watched a bunch of traffic cop body cam videos and who the cops pull over is often appalling. They are literally taking their lives in their hands during a stop because they have no idea what to expect. And sometimes they lose.
Making the absurd argument that her car was wrongly pulled over reminds me of how 5 years olds talk they play games and argue for a do-over.
Suppose they person were wanted for a far more serious offense? Would the cops just let them go if they pulled over the wrong car?
“who is in the country illegally”
That TRUMPS everything......I don’t care what’s she’s accomplished or how she got caught.........GET......OUT!!!
